Our approach to capital markets
Lynx Capital, LLC brings to bear the experience and knowledge of its Principals to evaluate two key drivers of value which we believe are critically important to institutional investors.
We analyze “what’s missing” in the typical institutional investor asset allocation — both at the asset class and underlying deployment levels.
We assess the capital markets environment today and then overlay our real life experience that dates back to 1985 (including Black Monday 1987, recession in the early 1990s, dot com bubble in 2001, global financial crisis in 2008, and the 2020 global pandemic).
While different types of institutional investors have differing “cost of capital” and therefore employ customized asset allocation, we believe there are specific strategies that offer exposure to asset types that are underrepresented in most institutional portfolios.
As such, we look for private market asset strategies that offer the following characteristics:
Capital preservation
Protection against recession conditions
“Healthy” return profiles (aka no “pie in the sky projected returns”)
Niche strategies that offer non-correlated return profiles
