Meet the team

Lynx Capital, LLC started in 2009 and the business was purchased by Theodore J. Deutz in 2013. As a team, we create custom advisory and fundraising solutions for our clients and welcome the challenges associated with complex assignments. Our passion is delivering successful outcomes to you.

Our Managing Directors are actively involved in every aspect of the fundraising process. They lead our firm’s advisory and marketing activities and focus on delivering superior outcomes. The team is comprised of professionals with buy-side and sell-side experience who have a broad knowledge of the institutional markets, especially real estate, infrastructure, and intellectual property private equity investments.

 
 

Theodore J. Deutz

president

As the Firm’s owner, T.J. is involved in all aspects including lead originator of GP & fund manager relationships. In addition, he is directly involved in capital raising activities and providing advisory services to Lynx clients. T.J.’s professional background includes over 33 years in the institutional investment management industry in the areas of sales, marketing, product development, product management and business development. Since his founding of an institutional fund raising team in 2008, he has led all aspects of GP and/or fund manager identification, evaluation, diligence and selection. Following the purchase of Lynx Capital, LLC in 2015, he formalized the team under the Lynx and manages all aspects of the business.

Prior to Lynx, T.J. worked at RCM Capital Management, LLC in San Francisco for 10 years, and was the Chief Marketing Officer and Member of the Management Committee during that time. While at RCM, he managed a team of up to 75 professionals in sales (when the firm topped out at $55 billion in AUM), marketing, client service, product development, product management and consultant relations. While the firm’s focus was on its institutional client base, he also managed a team focused on the high net worth market, and provided third party marketing support to other Allianz units.

As part of this role, he served as President of RCM Distributors, LLC, a FINRA broker/dealer. In addition, he sat on several committees both within RCM and among the larger group of Allianz related asset management platforms related to business management, product development & seeding, and global distribution strategy.

Prior to his time at RCM, he worked at other large asset managers including Prudential Asset Management Company & Bankers Trust Co. where he worked on marketing teams focused on the Public & Taft-Hartley marketplaces. His background includes servicing clients in the liquid equity, fixed income, real estate and other product types & asset classes.

Robert M. Beck

managing director

Bob is based in Cleveland, Ohio and focuses his activities on opportunities in the mid western United States including safety officer pension systems and the real estate consulting industry.

Bob’s background is a bit different from the other members of the Lynx team as he spent over 36 years with the Cleveland Ohio Police Department, working as a Patrol Officer, Detective and in the Personnel Department. In addition to his duties as a Sworn Officer, he served as the President of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association for 15 years. Bob retired from both of these positions in 2006.

Additionally, he served as an Elected Trustee on the Board of The Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund from June 1997 to June 2008. During his time on the Board, he served three terms as Chairman and two terms as Vice Chairman. He also sat on several Committees and served as the Chair of the Investment Committee.

In addition to his work on many civic projects and with many community teams, Bob was the Area Vice President for the Cleveland Area AFL-CIO for over 9 years.

Both during and after his retirement, Bob served as Vice President of the Cleveland Police Credit Union (for a total of 19 years). Additionally, he founded and operates Robert Beck Consulting, LLC, a business that works with Safety officers during who are considering filing retirement and/or disability papers.

 
 

 

Scott Eversole

managing director

Scott joined us in 2023 after a successful 10 year stint at Manulife Investment Management from 2013 to 2023.  Scott leads the Firm’s efforts in private equity and private credit.  Scott’s background includes over 30 years of experience with both liquid and private fund strategies and has raised capital for growth equity (liquid and private markets), real estate, infrastructure, fixed income and specialty strategies.  He has worked with clients in the public fund, endowment, foundation, corporate and RIA channels during this career. 

 Prior to joining Lynx Capital and his Manulife tenure, Scott spent 2 years with McKinley Capital and 9 years with Turner Investment Partners.

Kevin M. Walsh

managing director

Kevin’s career has included senior positions in the investment management industry and local government spanning over 35 years.

Prior to joining Lynx, he founded Prospect Marketers LLC, a firm representing clients in the health care and asset management industries. During his career, Mr. Walsh held distribution and client service roles with Mutual of America Capital Management LLC, Phoenix Investments, Delaware Investments and Putnam Investments.

Previous to his career in the investment management industry, Mr. Walsh was the Executive Director of the City of Boston Trust Office and the COO of the Boston Redevelopment Authority.

Kevin is also a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute and past member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the Association of Investment Management Sales Executives, the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Plans and the Government Finance Officers Association.

Ted Sheridan, CFA

Managing director

Ted joined Lynx in 2024 and currently resides in Park City, Utah.

He brings over twenty years of institutional business development experience in both traditional and alternative asset classes across a wide range of investor channels including Public, Corporate, Endowment and Foundation, Insurance, Healthcare, OCIO, Family Office and RIA.

Prior to joining Lynx, Ted held US institutional sales roles in San Francisco and Philadelphia with global asset managers such as Franklin Templeton, Nuveen, and Delaware Investments.

He began his career as an investment analyst and portfolio manager in New York City with Shearson Lehman Hutton and UBS PaineWebber.

Ted is a member of the CFA Society of Salt Lake City.

David H. Blanchard

managing director

Dave is directly involved in private equity capital raising activities and providing advisory services to Lynx clients, most notably in the energy sector. Dave’s professional background includes 30 years in the institutional investment management industry in the areas of sales, marketing, product development and business development. Dave’s expertise includes tactical and strategic institutional marketing services to emerging managers, corresponding advisory services related to the competitive environment, fund design and trends in the marketplace. 

Prior to joining Lynx Capital, Dave was the President of Investment Management Advisors, LLC (“IMA”), a Dallas based institutional advisory consulting firm which specialized in sales & marketing services to asset management firms serving as the outsourced public funds focused institutional sales and marketing arm for Conseco Capital Management, Forstmann-Leff Associates and REFCO.  

From 1987-2000, he held senior institutional sales management and marketing roles at Lehman Brothers, Paine Webber, Ryan Labs Asset Management and Dresdner RCM Global Advisors.

Dave also served as the financial advisor to the Department of Public Safety Officers Union assisting in Board oversight for their $6B pension plan, a component of the consolidated State of Texas Employees Retirement System from 2008-2010.
